At Fir Tree we know that children are far more likely to be successful if they feel good about themselves. We established our Smartie Scheme to ensure that all children's strengths were recognised; not just the academic skills . We linked each of Gardiner's Intelligences to a different coloured Smartie to provide children and adults with a common language with which to describe their strengths and weaknesses.

Currently we are offering six week courses at our 'University' where invited experts host masterclasses in areas as diverse as bellringing and woodwork. This initiative will begin to cater for the vast range of interests and skills presented by our children.
